It was a monumental night in British politics last night, as the Labour Party scored a massive victory throughout the country, ending 14 years of Tory rule and unseating Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister.

Labour leader Keir Starmer takes his place in what is being hailed as one of the largest Parliamentary victories in British history.

For folks across the pond, however, one of the biggest stories concerned the loss of former Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg, whose seat went to Labour's Dan Norris. It wasn't so much Rees-Mogg's loss that captured online attention, but the fact he was forced to give his concession speech next to a man who looked like baked beans.

The race for Rees-Mogg's seat also included Phin 'Barmy Brunch' Adams of the Monster Raving Loony Party.

His politics seemed to stem from the belief that all of England's problems could be solved with an English brunch. Brunch, like Rees-Mogg, lost the race, coming in seventh out of seven candidates and receiving only 211 votes. He attended the concession in a baked beans balaclava.

For Rees-Mogg's critics, the pictures of the outgoing MP next to Brunch and his beany balaclava were a delicious insult to injury.
