About

Trump and Jesus Courtroom Sketch is a sketch of Donald Trump sitting next to Jesus Christ in court together. After the image was shared on Twitter amid Trump's New York City civil lawsuit trial for fraud, it was shared by Trump himself on Truth Social, leading to jokes and memes about the image. It's currently unknown if the image is AI art.

Origin

On October 2nd, 2023, Twitter user @Dom_lucre[1] posted an image of Trump sitting next to Jesus in the style of a courtroom sketch, captioning the post, "This is the most accurate court sketch of all time. Because nobody could have made it this far alone." The tweet gained over 5,700 retweets and 22,000 likes in one day (shown below). It is unknown who created the image or if it was AI-generated.

Spread

Hours after Dom_lucre's post on October 2nd, 2023, Donald Trump reposted a screenshot of the tweet on Truth Social.[2]

The repost drew increased attention to Dom_Lucre's post and also led to a series of jokes about how Jesus was depicted in the sketch.

One common thread of the jokes was to mislabel Jesus as other long-haired white people. For example, on October 3rd, Twitter user @LeftwardSwing[3] posted a joke about Jesus actually being Dog the Bounty Hunter (shown below, left). Similarly, user @LevinInches[4] joked that Jesus looked like "The ghost of Gregg Allman" that same day (shown below, right). Neither tweet received significant engagement.

Trump's repost of the sketch also drew the attention of several media outlets, including the New York Post,[5] meaww[6] and Mirror.[7]
