About

Trump 2024 is a catchphrase and political slogan for the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election said by Donald Trump as part of his campaign, which was officially announced in mid-November 2022. The slogan will be used in the majority of his marketing and signage for the upcoming election, as well as seeing use as a hashtag on Twitter and across social media in various memes, discussions and other posts.

Origin

On November 15th, 2022, Donald Trump made an announcement from Mar-A-Lago in which he stated his intent to run again for U.S. president, in an attempt to follow Grover Cleveland's footsteps in becoming the second person to be president in two non-consecutive terms. The full announcement was livestreamed on several news channels and uploaded to YouTube by the official ABC Action News Channel,[1] where it went on to get over 50,000 views in 12 hours (shown below).

Spread

Immediately upon Trump's official announcement, memes, discussions and hot takes about his upcoming presidential run started to flood social media, with various posts being either for or against him. For example, on November 15th, 2022, the Twitter account @herotimeszero[2] uploaded an object-labeling meme in which Kari Lake, who lost her Governor race in Arizona during the 2022 midterms, and Donald Trump are pictured together with "amateur" and "professional loser" placed above them, earning over 4,000 likes in 12 hours (shown below).

PROFESSIONAL LOSER AMATEUR LOSER

On November 16th, 2022, the following morning of the announcement, Twitter user @k_ovfefe2[3] then made a reference to Trump's Covfefe tweet and shared a picture of Donald Trump up in the sky as the sun with the sunshine pouring out over a field of flowers with Luke Crywalker being photoshopped on top of them, earning over 400 likes in five hours (shown below).

MAGAGA / Make America Great And Glorious Again

MAGAGA refers to an updated 2022 version of Donald Trump's slogan and catchphrase "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) made for his 2024 re-election campaign. MAGAGA is an abbreviation that stands for Make America Great And Glorious Again which was first uttered in Trump's November 2022 speech from Mar-a-Lago. The meaning of MAGAGA sparked interest online following his 2024 campaign announcement and trended on Twitter and elsewhere. MAGAGA became an anti-Trump trend due to his opponents coining the abbreviation that made the moment from his speech sound childish and ramble-like.
