"Kreygasm" is an emoticon featuring a portrait of Twitch streamer Kreyg,[8] which is often used in chats on the video streaming service to indicate an intense feeling of elation or pleasure.
Origin
In a Twitter exchange with Twitch employee Hassan Bokhari[2] held in July 2014, Kreyg submitted the original kreygasm photo to the video streaming service several years prior (shown below).

According to an email from Kreyg sent to GotFunnyPictures staff, a Justin.tv admin approached Kreyg in March of 2011 to have his likeness made into a global chat emoticon. In August of that year, the term "kreygasm" was coined during one of Kreyg's Twitch streams. Kreyg subsequently took a photo of himself and submitted it to Twitch to become an emoticon (shown below). On September 3rd, 2011, a thread about Twitch emoticons was updated with several new faces that had been added, which included the kreygasm face.[6]

Spread
On July 10th, 2013, a Facebook[5] page titled "Kreygasm" was launched. On August 15th, a document containing an ASCII art version of the kreygasm face was uploaded to Pastebin[3] (shown below).[3] In October, the ASCII was highlighted on the Twitch ASCII blog.[4]

On August 8th, 2014, the tech news blog Mashable[7] mentioned the kreygasm face in an article about Twitch chat emoticons. On October 5th, YouTuber Tomasla uploaded a video titled "SingSing – Kreygasm," featuring footage from the game Defense of the Ancients 2 in which the video game streamer Sing Sing moans during after performing a winning move (shown below). On October 9th, Urban Dictionary[1] user Rawrchi submitted an entry for "kreygasm," defining it as an emoticon used to "show intense emotion similar to an orgasm."
