About

EmperorLemon or EmpLemon (Real name Aaron Lemos) is a Youtuber, known for his Youtube Poop’s, as well as Meme and Youtube related commentary.

Online History

Early history

EmperorLemon’s first channel[1] launched Mar 12, 2010 and featured mostly Youtube poops, first of which was “Bill O'reilly interviews Jim Mora” released May 13 2010 (Shown below).

On March 10 2011 EmpLemon released his first Spongebob Squarepants – themed YTP called YouTube Poop: “Spinge Bulb feeds his snail performance enhancing drugs”. It became Lemon’s first breakthrough hit quickly garnering over 100 thousand views with slightly over 1 milion views today. Further Spongebob-themed videos would receive comparable amounts of praise.

On March 23 2011 he made a secondary channel called EmperorLime[2] where he would mostly upload short edited clips from various media as well as short lived podcast named The Sobcast.

Pixar years

On August 16 2013 Emperor Lemon released his first Pixar YTP “The UNcredibles” which to this day is his most popular video with over 5 million views, 54 thousand likes and 10 thousand comments. 8 months later EmpLemon published a sequel to UNcredibles “The NONcredibles” which met similar acclaim.

Other major Pixar Youtube poops include “Lighting McQueer and the Quest for Tires” and “Frying Nemo”, latter of which recived 3 sequels (ReFrying Nemo, PanFrying Nemo, DeepFrying Nemo)

Downward spiral
“I think Lemon has been on a downward spiral mentally and now he's lost it completely.”
- Stuart K Reilly 2016[3]

Around 2016 EmperorLemon started experimenting with various formats leading to creation of his first meme compilation “ASCENDEDá”ƒËąá¶œá”‰á¶°á”ˆá”‰á”ˆâ€. New style of videos didn’t stick with some of his fans leading to decreased views and ratings. As a result EmpLemon released several rants during which he coined ironic catchphrase “Downward spiral” to describe changes affecting his channel.

Later that year Lemon started releasing more rants, this time relating mostly to Youtube landscape in general. On May 8 2017 he uploaded his first meme essay: “MEME Theory: How Behind The Meme is Ruining the Memescape as we Know It” treating on adverse effects Youtube channel Behind The Meme has on memes as well as a backing of Anthony Fantano's feud with Behind the Meme creator. While being one of the most popular videos on the channel it also gathered some backlash due to alleged meme elitism.

Current

Since 2017 EmperorLemon shifted his attention ever further away from YTP’s, focusing almost completely on rants and meme videos. By the end of the year on 25 November Lemon introduced a new series called “Youtube Geographic” where he would explore various events in Youtube history. Three months later in 2018 he would introduce yet another series called “Minute Memes” where he would rate memes within minute long videos.

On 20 of July fourth episode of Youtube Geographic, a dissection of LeafyIsHere career was released. It became a massive success scoring over 2 million views and good reception. Minute memes on the other hand didn't last long as after ninth episode "Grabahan", which was an elaborate Ligma joke, and 10 reviews-in-one special in July, channel would cease to feature meme reviews altogether. Instead Emp would launch an yet another new series "There will never ever be
" or just "Never ever", a deconstruction of various works of entertainment and events. First episode explaining success of early Spongebob Squarepants episodes would come out September 19 2018 and became another over 2 million views hit, which could be partially attributed to passing of the late Stephen Hillenburg two months later.

At the same time Emperor Lemon would continue his criticism of YouTube policy, often commenting on recent changes, decisions and events, like The Great Subscriber War.

At the same time an associate of Lemon's, Rusty Cage would turn his old secondary channel into a hub for podcast "State of the Youtube" which he would host along with Emperor and another content creator Mumkey Jones. First episode launched
