Oh When the Saints Go Marching In refers to a TikTok audio of TikToker Andy Arthur Smith (@andyarthursmith) singing the song "Oh When The Saints" and snapping to the beat. The viral video was posted in February 2024, and its sound inspired mass usage months later in June 2024 via shitpost edits and photo slideshows. Many used the sound for Ray William Johnson vs. Serbian Dancing Lady memes, inspiring ViggleAI memes that showed Johnson singing and dancing to the song. Andy Arthur Smith is also the singer from the Guy Singing Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 In G Major meme.

On February 9th, 2024, TikToker[1] @andyarthursmith posted a video of himself singing "Oh When The Saints," snapping and looking directly into the camera. Over four months, the video received roughly 23.9 million plays and 2.6 million likes (shown below).

The video was dueted by other singers who harmonized with Smith in the following days, such as TikToker[2] @greg_fountaine on February 11th, 2024, whose video received over 3.4 million plays and 330,900 likes in four months (shown below, left). Strings of duets ensued with the aforementioned video (example shown below, right).

Despite early usage from other singers, the original video's TikTok sound[3] didn't receive mass meme usage until May 2024, caused by shitpost edits that used it. One of the earliest was a "Try not to change your pfp" shitpost shared by TikToker[4] @chill.bill.real on May 18th, gaining roughly 620,700 plays and 63,800 likes in a month (shown below, left).

On May 19th, 2024, TikToker[5] @chill.bill.real posted a more viral video that followed the same format, gaining over 1.7 million plays and 197,200 likes during the same timeframe (shown below, right).
