I Skin Infant Babies is an exploitable image macro of Marvel character Thor (Chris Hemsworth) screaming, captioned with, "I skin infant babies!!!" Used to elicit shock value, the panel is added in a non-sequitur fashion to existing memes of poor comedic quality, "enhancing" in an ironic fashion, similar to the older I'm Stuff meme.

Origin

On June 27th, 2022, Redditor^[1] droidakadabra posted a six-panel ironic meme based on an existing Nothing Stronger Than Family meme, replacing the last panel with an image of MCU character Thor, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth, captioned, "I skin infant babies!!!" The Redditor described the meme as a /r/MarvelCringe alternative to the existing I Boil Dogs Alive non-sequitur panel, at that time prevalent in the /r/okbuddyretard subreddit. The post gained over 840 upvotes in the /r/MarvelCringe subreddit in five months (shown below).

Spread

In the following days, the format achieved a viral presence in the /r/MarvelCringe subreddit as users added the panel to existing cringy Marvel memes. For example, on June 28th, 2022, Redditor ^[2]Bambanuget posted a meme that gained over 390 upvotes in the subreddit in five months (shown below, left). On July 1st, Redditor^[3] droidakadabra posted a meme that received over 570 upvotes in the subreddit in a similar timeframe (shown below, right).

Starting in October 2022, the format achieved virality on Twitter^[4] as gimmick account Bad Marvel Memes (@AvengersBad) started posting memes with the panel. For example, on October 19th, 2022, the account posted a Men Only Have 4 Moods meme that gained over 440 retweets and 4,800 likes in one month (shown below, left). On November 11th, the account tweeted^[5] another meme that gained over 210 retweets and 3,000 likes in one week (shown below, right).
