Same here. Sure the first adaptation will always be a classic, but Burton's take on the same book was good too, at least in my opinion. I am a bit curious what Roald Dahl would have thought though. Despite how much of a "classic" the 1970s adaptation is commonly considered, Dahl himself absolutely hated it to the point that he wrote into his will "NO ONE is allowed to adapt Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, I hate what they turned the first book into" (which is why Burton made a new ending for his version, so it'd fell more conclusive).
