Based on how history's gone – how many jobs and professions and callings have been made obsolete by machines and computers – I absolutely believe his fears are founded. If you think anyone's going to pay for artists to create what they can have for free, in minutes rather than days or weeks, then you live in an entirely different world from mine. A world filled with professional woodcarvers and book-binders where people walk everywhere and airplanes don't exist.
Aaaaaaaaaand my suspicions have been confirmed.
It was obvious that if the copyright issue was resolved, these people were not gonna stop, because their core problem was not with copyright, but with the tech itself and if they fail to convince the general public to stop using AI image gen, they'll just start lobbying for legislation.
You're gonna see this mentality become more prevalent with time.
