Singing Cacodemon refers to a fan art phenomenon that consists of old-style DOOM cacodemons edited to appear as if they are singing.

Origin

On February 29th, 2020, Twitter user @m3m3waznothere posted a Thanos Beatbox Cacodemon meme, gaining over 1,700 retweets and 6,000 likes (shown below)


Precursor

The earliest video to feature cacodemons singing was posted on January 25th, 2009 by user Raptor 501st[1] (shown below). However, no subsequent parodies were created in the following eleven years.



Spread

On March 18th, 2020, two days before the release of DOOM Eternal, BrochachoYT reposted the beatboxing Cacodemon, gaining over 56,000 views (shown below)



Over the remainder of March and April of 2020, YouTubers made multiple videos with cacodemons singing various songs. For example, YouTuber JorJuz posted a variation paired with the "Fu Fu Dance," gaining over 3,000 views (shown below, left). User Niv posted a variation where the cacodemons sing the theme from iCarly (shown below, right).
