Scratch That, Reverse It 🤓☝️ refers to a catchphrase from the 2023 film Wonka starring Timothée Chalamet. After a trailer for the film was released in July 2023, a clip of Chalamet delivering the dialogue, "So quiet up and listen down. Nope, scratch that. Reverse it." went viral on TikTok in July and August 2023.

On July 11th, 2023, Warner Bros. posted a trailer for the Wonka film, a clip that was reposted by IndieWire's TikTok[1] page on the same date. The upload, which gathered over 4.3 million plays and 390,000 likes became the predominant TikTok sound used to make videos about the catchphrase, "So quiet up and listen down. Nope, scratch that. Reverse it." The earliest known parody of the dialogue was posted by TikToker[2] @wesleyh10 on July 13th, 2023, gathering over 9 million plays and 1.3 million likes in two months (seen below, right).

Various other TikTokers began to parody the dialogue and its delivery in subsequent days, with TikToker[3] @greenitalian posting a video on July 15th, 2023, that inspired a trend that follows her choreography. The video gathered over 6 million plays and 1.4 million likes in six weeks (seen below, left). On July 17th, TikToker[4] @turtlewithhat posted a video mimicking @greenitalian's choreography, gathering over 4.7 million plays and 800,000 likes in six weeks (seen below, right).

On July 19th, TikToker[5] @the.wasian posted a video parodying the dialogue and gathered over 7.2 million plays and 1.8 million likes in a month (seen below, left). Also on July 19th, TikToker[6] @mitsy270 posted a similar video, gathering over 6.3 million plays and 750,000 likes in a month (seen below, right).
