Pols Aa Gyi Pols is a viral video and catchphrase popular in India and Indian memes. The phrase originates from a video featuring several men speaking in Punjabi before they are interrupted by flashing blue and red lights from afar, leading someone to exclaim "oye pols aa gyi pols!" meaning "oy, the police is coming!" The lights are then shown to have been a false alarm, coming from the headlights of an older bearded man on a bike. The video was first posted to Instagram on an unknown date before it was reposted to YouTube in February 2023 and subsequently went viral as a catchphrase on Instagram in March 2023.
Origin
On January 15th, Instagram[1] page @sagarchasm posted the earliest known video featuring several men talking in a dimly lit environment before running away from what appears to be flashing police lights while shouting "pols aa gyi pols!." The video gathered over 1,800 likes in 6 months (seen below).
The earliest known upload of the clip to gather several thousand views was posted to YouTube[2] on February 4th, 2023, by the account shitposting9834, gathering over 90,000 views in roughly a month (seen below).
The video shows a group of men talking in a dark outdoor setting before being interrupted by flashing red and blue lights in the distance. The lights cause the men to begin running away as someone exclaims, "Oye pols aagyi pols!", meaning "Oy the police are here!" The lights come closer, revealing an older bearded man wearing a blue turban who says in Punjabi, "Daro an modify kraaya hai," meaning "don't be afraid, I just modified my bike."

On February 26th, the Instagram[3] page @luxx.ded posted a meme using the catchphrase "pols aagyi pols," gathering over 9,000 likes in nearly a week (seen below, right).
On February 25th, 2023, the Instagram[6] page @osirus_fr posted the video with an ironic caption that was subsequently reposted by the Instagram[7] page @baekoof, gathering over 21,000 likes in over two weeks (seen below).
The page[4] Luxx.ded also posted a powerscaling meme on February 28th, which featured the "baba" (or old man) from the video, gathering over 14,000 likes in nearly a week (seen below).
