Senzawa is a Youtuber known for their music videos and blue-haired anime avatar. Her music and dub videos feature a childish voice and animations. In December 2018, Senzawa went viral for her hit rap cover of the Notices Buldge /OwO What's This? copypasta. Since then internet users have produced Senzawa fan art and TikTok lipsync videos of her songs.

Online History

On July 30th, 2016, Senzawa joined YouTube. On November 12th, 2017, Senzawa uploaded her first video "Dino is a little bitch – Blend S fandub" (shown below, left). The video garnered over 415,500 views and 17,000 likes in three years. On November 24th, 2018, Senzawa uploaded a popular video titled, "i got blitzed and sang country road" which received over four million views and 140,000 likes in two years (shown below, right).

On December 10th, 2018, Senzawa uploaded her most popular video as of March 2020 titled, "i turned a bad copypasta into a bad rap" (shown below). The video gained over 17 million views and 595,000 likes in a year. The song launched a more mainstream stardom with hundreds of TikTok lipsync videos (see Rawr x3 / You So Warm below).

Reputation

On Nov 18, 2018, The subreddit r/Sensawa^[5] was created as a Senzawa fan gathering place and has gained over 2,700 members in two years. Since then, Senzawa has accumulated hundreds of examples of fanart posted on various platforms. On June 24th, 2019, Redditor preattyodd posted an image of Senzawa dabbing to r/animegirlsdabbing^[6] and accumulated over 200 points (100% upvoted) in a year (shown below, left). On February 27th, 2020, Twitter user @hemmmlock^[7] tweeted Senzawa fan art which gained over 1,100 likes in a week (shown below, right). As of March 2020, Senzawa has over 16,100 followers on Instagram,^[10] 36,360 followers on Twitch,^[8] 60,300 followers on Twitter^[9] and 732,000 subscribers on YouTube.^[11]

Rawr x3 / You So Warm is a rap song by YouTuber Senzawa inspired by the Notices Buldge /OwO What's This? copypasta. On December 10th, 2018, YouTuber Senzawa^[2] uploaded the video "i turned a bad copypasta into a bad rap" (shown below). The video gained 6.5 million views and 291,000 likes in two months. Senzawa attached a link to the Reddit post that inspired the rap. On February 9th, 2017, Redditor Net_Lurker1 posted the text to /r/copypasta^[1]:

Oki Doki Boomer

Oki Doki Boomer is a song that contains lyrics referencing the slang expression OK Boomer. In March 2020, the song was used in a viral TikTok created by user neekolul, in which she mouths the lyrics while dancing in a Bernie Sanders shirt. On November 14th, 2019 Twitter user @sensenzawa^[3] tweeted, "okidoki boomie uwu ╰(´︶`)╯♡" (shown below). The tweet, which was posted a month before the song was created, garnered over 5,000 likes in four months.

On December 14th, YouTuber Senzawa uploaded a video titled "Oki Doki Boomer," which featured a clip of an anime girl dancing and a beat by YouTuber Jammy Beatz^[4] while a high pitched voice can be heard singing "OK Boomer, whatever you say, Boomer" in the background (shown below). The video accumulated over 1.8 million views in three months.

Personal Life

Senzawa has been careful with revealing her true identity. On October 14th, 2019 Redditor Japilla asked r/senzawa^[13] if the Sensenzawa iFunny^[12] account was just a fan account. The account which is linked to Senzawa's Twitter account features several videos of a girl with a mask on in her room. Redditors concluded that the account was just a fan account and that Senzawa has yet to reveal her identity.
