About

Nickemercs, stylized, NICKMERCS, is the co-owner of FaZe Clan and a partnered streamer on Twitch. He is known for streaming Gears of War, Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends. He was previously a part of 100 Thieves.

History

Nickmercs began his professional gaming career playing the competitive FPS games Gears of War and Halo. In 2010 he started gaming on Justin.tv, now Twitch, building a following through Gears of War videos. In December 2017, Nickmercs set a world record for total kills in a Fortnite squad match with 54. The record was beaten in April 2018.^[8]

YouTube

In 2011, Nickmercs opened his YouTube^[7] channel. The earliest available video on the NICKMERCs YouTube channel is from September 2015 and shows the streamer playing Until Dawn (shown below).

Nickmercs most popular videos as of February 2022 are Fortnite gameplay videos uploaded in 2018, with over 9.4 million and 5 million views respectively (shown below, left and right).

Nickmercs Vs. Ninja

Nickmercs and streamer Ninja have had several altercations while gaming, often due to trash talking (examples shown below).

100 Thieves And FaZe Clan

In 2018, Nickmercs joined the gaming organization 100 Thieves. He left the organization in May 2019 after a falling out with the organization's owner Nadeshot. Allegedly, Nadeshot offered Nick 5% of the company but never gave him the share, which was a main reason in his leaving. On May 25th, Nickmercs posted a video explaining his departure (shown below).

Later that month Nickmercs joined gaming organization FaZe Clan. This was announced on FaZe Clan's YouTube channel on May 30th of that year (shown below).

Twitch Exclusivity

On October 5th, 2021, Nickmercs announced that he would exclusively start streaming on Twitch in a video posted to his YouTube channel (shown below). In the video, a soldier decides between two weapons, one branded YouTube and one Twitch, picking the Twitch sword. He still uploads videos to YouTube, including stream highlights.

Transphobic Slur Ban

On June 27th, 2024, Nickmercs received a ban from Twitch, apparently for using the word "tranny." The news led to criticisms of Nickmercs for claiming to want to "protect kids" from LGBTQ+ people yet was friends with Dr Disrespect, who was amid allegations for grooming minors.
