Jason Booth is a TikTok comedian who gained notoriety in March 2020 for posting videos on himself serving his toddler meals as if they were in a fine dining restaurant. The video series which he dubbed L'Dad Chateau was shared on Twitter and Instagram.

Online History

On March 26th, 2020, TikToker Jason Booth,@jasonrockford, uploaded a video captioned "Restaurant people after two weeks in quarantine (shown below, left). The video gained over 31,800 likes in three weeks. The next day, TikToker @jasonrockford uploaded another iteration of the L'Dad Chateau sketch with a new meal for his toddler (shown below, right). The video garnered over 35,200 likes in three weeks.

On April 3rd, Booth uploaded a variation on his series with a "Pop's Pizza" video captioned, "When L’Dad’s Chateau is closed, Mr. B likes to stop in at his old neighborhood pizza joint, Pop’s Pizza" (shown below). The video gained over 6,000 likes in 13 days.

On April 13th 2020, Booth uploaded another variation to Instagram in which he introduces the "restaurant's" Milk Sommelier (show below). The video accumulated over 1,700 views and 200 likes in three days.

Reputation

On March 30th, 2020 Twitter user @CleverlyChloe shared one of Jason Booth's TikTok videos adding the caption, "The type of parent I want to have time to be!" (shown below). The tweet received over 248,900 likes and 59,800 retweets in 17 days.

On April 16th, Twitter user @JuiceboxCA reposted a Booth update video which explains that after three weeks doing L'Dad's Chateau videos he has amassed over 60,000 TikTok followers and "tons of press." He also signed a media deal after having missed a job opportunity due to COVID-19 closures (shown below). Booth has also gained over 5,900 followers on Instagram^[1] and was featured on Fatherly.^[2]
