About

Def Noodles, real name Dennis Feitosa, is an online drama reporter, podcaster and YouTuber that covers tea and rumors about celebrities, internet celebrities and fellow content creators. He is most known for his daily YouTube series "Irrelevant News," where he covers celebrity and influencer drama in a comedic way through his character Def Noodles. Feitosa began his YouTube career in 2018 and became increasingly popular in the 2020s as he transitioned from reaction and commentary content to drama reporting. In 2022, Feitosa filed a lawsuit against Keemstar for defamation after Keemstar falsely accused Feitosa of allegedly being a pedophile. That year, Feitosa became the subject of controversy after joking that content creator Papa Gut looks like a pedophile.

History

Before reporting on drama, Def Noodles uploaded reaction and commentary videos to YouTube, with his first ("I Love You Goodbye Reaction") posted on October 27th, 2018. The most viewed video on the channel, uploaded in December 2018, is a reaction to singer Warren Laban singing "Alone Heart," which gained over 6.4 million views in four years (shown below).



In November 2019, Feitosa began reporting on online drama regularly through the Def Noodles YouTube channel. The videos see Feitosa break down popular drama and online stories using humor (examples shown below). Between 2019 and late 2021, Feitosa played the character of a "cat in Minecraft," represented by wearing cat-ear headphones, glasses and using a Minecraft house background. However, he dropped the character in late 2021.



On March 4th, 2021, Vulture[10] then published an interview with Feitosa.

2021 Suspension From Twitter

On July 13th, 2021, the Def Noodles Twitter account was suspended from Twitter, forcing Feitosa to use the Def Noodles Instagram page primarily. Feitosa posted a now-deleted tweet[11] on his second account, @gowithdennis, about the suspension that day, claiming he got "a lot of emails from Twitter" saying people were reporting his account (shown below).

Following the suspension, Def Noodles began implying that Keemstar's fans mass reported his account to get it banned, although these claims are unverified. In July 2022, Twitter reinstated Def Noodles' Twitter account. Def Noodles discussed the reinstatement on an episode of his podcast on July 8th (shown below).



Defamation Lawsuit Against Keemstar

Def Noodles is openly critical of fellow drama reporter Keemstar. On May 21st, 2021, Keemstar posted to Twitter,[1] "Def Noodles has allegedly groomed girls from ages 12-15. He then commented, "Def Noodles has declined to give us a comment on these allegations made against him" (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 2,700 likes in a year.

On February 5th, 2022, Keemstar seemingly admitted to making the story up in a tweet,[2] writing, "Don’t you remember he kept posting nonstop fake Pedo stories on Youtubers so I posted this tweet to mock him. In May 2021 everyone knows this is a joke that im mocking him, but now he’s taking it completely out of context acting like it’s a serious allegation" (shown below, right).

On May 19th, Feitosa announced at the end of the latest Irrelevant News episode that he's suing Keemstar for defamation over the pedophile accusation, claiming it lost him sponsors and had a negative effect on his career (shown below). Keemstar responded indirectly on Twitter, writing, "Going to add more Play Buttons to my collection," a reference to a past lawsuit filed against Keemstar by content creator Romeo Lacoste that Keemstar won, awarding Keemstar Lacoste's YouTube Gold Play Button.[12]

On August 5th, Keem's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the case.[26]



First "Super Roast Battle"

On August 19th, 2022, in the midst of receiving backlash for his feud with Papa Gut and his age discrepancy drama, Feitosa hosted the first of a series of roast battles at his recently opened comedy club. The battle was streamed online on Twitch and YouTube, garnering over 60,000 views in a week (shown below). During the stream, an LGBTQ+ community said the f-slur, receiving Feitosa a weeklong ban on Twitch.



The roast battle was largely criticised by the commentary community, with numerous commentators live reacting to it. On August 21st, Cr1TiKaL posted a video reacting to it, calling it out for being cringe, garnering over 5 million views in five days (shown below).



Second "Super Roast Battle"

On September 2nd, 2022, Feitosa hosted the second "Super Roast Battle" event at his comedy club. Salvo Pancakes, an internet commentator and critic of Feitosa, attended the event to have a roast battle with Feitosa. His trip to Los Angeles was sponsored by Red Bar Radio.[27] Before the event began, Salvo stood up on the stage and got the crowd to chant, "Red Bar." Feitosa came out from backstage and pushed Feitosa into the crowd (shown below).



Following the event, which was live streamed on Feitosa's podcast channel, clips of the push were uploaded on Twitter, inspiring criticism towards Feitosa. Many saw the push as hypocritical, as Feitosa specifically invited his critics to come on stage to roast battle him. Feitosa and Salvo did not roast battle during the event, with Feitosa at first refusing to give him a mic, then allowing him to rant against Feitosa to the crowd.


Controversies

2022 Feud With Papa Gut

On February 8th, 2022, Def Noodles and creator Papa Gut debated each other about disagreements surrounding the Bee Family drama, which saw the Bee Family parents criticizing creator Kilik, 16 years old, over making sexual comments about their 15-year-old daughter.[3] Papa Gut took the defense of Kilik, saying he was making jokes. Some found Feitosa's handling of the debate poor, with him yelling and calling Gut a "dumbfuck" multiple times throughout the debate (shown below).



On July 24th, Def Noodles tweeted[13] about Elon Musk having a new baby, writing, "ELON MUSK: Welcomed 9th baby with 3rd baby mamma one week ago. Says he’s doing his part to prevent underpopulation crisis. ALSO ELON MUSK: I haven’t had sex in ages." That day, Twitter user @ybsburner99 replied saying Musk had the baby through IVF, painting Noodles' post as disingenuous and claiming he has an agenda. Noodles retweeted[14] the post, writing, "My agenda is to clap your big, bodacious and juicy mfing cheeks," sparking an argument between the two where Noodles claims he made YouTuber and streamer Papa Gut famous with their debate and calls Papa Gut an incel (shown below, left). On July 25th, Papa Gut retweeted Noodles' post, denying the claim and insulting Noodles (shown below, right).

Papa Gut posted a video to YouTube about the incident that same day on July 25th, gaining over 22,000 views in four days (shown below).



On July 28th, 2022, Feitosa retweeted[4] a tweet by Papa Gut where he gives context to a clip where he makes an off-color joke about pedophilia regarding content creator Ondreaz Lopez, who previously came under fire for messaging underage girls. Feitosa writes in the retweet, "mf got famous on tiktok for 'joking' about fucking 14-year-old girls, then gets offended someone jokes about him. but you know, he was right, i shouldn’t have said that. i should’ve instead said he makes himself so small in his videos to hide the fact he looks like a pedophile" (shown below).

Some people saw this as hypocritical of Feitosa and likened the joke made towards Papa Gut to the accusations that Keemstar made against Def Noodles.

It was a satirical call out since he allegedly slept with a 14 year old. It's a joke I've condemned multiple times but that person isn't interested in honesty.

On the same day, Papa Gut tweeted[5] a thread giving further context and calling out Feitosa for sensationalizing the story. He also posted a video to YouTube talking about Feitosa and their feud titled, "Def Noodles Is A Bad Person" (shown below). The feud with Papa Gut inspired reactions on Twitter, many against Def Noodles. On July 28th, Twitter[15] user @AugieRFC posted a screenshot of the Social Blade page for Def Noodles' Twitter page, showing a loss of over 1,000 subscribers that day.



On July 29th, Def Noodles posted the 547th episode of Irrelevant News to YouTube, titled, "My Apology To Twitter." At the start of the video, Def Noodles gives a joking apology towards Twitter in general for stirring up drama, admitting that he doesn't mean it (shown below).



On August 1st, Def Noodles hosted an over six-hour long Twitter Space to discuss the controversy (shown below). During the space, Def Noodles invited people including Keemstar and Papa Gut to talk and debate with him, continuing to defend himself against the criticism but admitting some of his posts may have gone too far.



Feud With Kat Tenbarge

On July 22nd, 2022, Def Noodles posted a tweet[6] calling out NBC News reporter Kat Tenbarge for an article[7] where, in his eyes, implying that Addison Rae's dad is a child predator for dating young women in response to a cheating scandal surrounding him (shown below).


On July 28th, fellow drama reporter Adam Mcintyre, a friend of Tenbarge's, tweeted,[8] "defnoodles is truly one of the worst people ever, genuinely." Tenbarge responded, "A few days ago he falsely claimed I IMPLIED someone was a pedophile and I just went to check his profile and he’s now outright falsely claiming people are pedophiles 💀 which is also what he’s suing over for happening to him?" (shown below).


Hours later, Feitosa retweeted[9] the post, writing:

This person is an actual member of the media who just a few days ago implied Addison Rae’s dad was a pedophile and is now saying that saying that someone 'looks like a pedophile' is the equivalent to accusing them of that. This is why mainstream media is dead.

Age Discrepancy / Feud With Taylor Lorenz

On August 6th, 2020, New York Times[16] reporter Taylor Lorenz published an article featuring an interview with Feitosa where she wrote that Feitosa is a "20-something YouTuber and comedian." Prior to August 2022, Feitosa's Famous Birthdays[17] page listed his age as 27. On August 1st, 2022, as Feitosa continued to receive backlash from the commentary community over saying Papa Gut looks like a pedophile, YouTuber[18] Tommy C's SFTP posted a video on the situation where he said he "wouldn't be surprised if [Feitosa is] in the mid to late 30s." People then began speculating on his age.

On August 8th, 2022, Feitosa posted an episode of his podcast to the Def Noodles Show YouTube[19] channel where he confirmed that he was actually 37 years old. According to Feitosa, an agent suggested he lie about his age to help him get acting roles since he looks younger than 37, allowing him to play characters in their 20s (shown below).



On that day, Feitosa tweeted[20] from the @defnoodles page, claiming that Taylor Lorenz published his age in the 2020 New York Times article despite him asking her not to. He included a clip of their phone call to back his point up where Lorenz asked his age and he said he is in his 20s but doesn't want to share his exact age (shown below).


Lorenz commented on the post several times denying the claims on August 8th, 2022 (shown below). In one post she shared a screenshot of the article where she specifically wrote that he's a "20-something YouTuber," not revealing a specific age. Lorenz then purportedly blocked Feitosa that day, which Feitosa shared in a tweet.[21]
