Anurag Dwivedi is an Indian fantasy cricket and football better and YouTuber known for winning large amounts of money on the fantasy cricket betting app Dream11. Older images of Anurag Dwivedi became popularized as meme templates on Instagram in 2023, although these posts were generally recognized as being paid promotions or examples of Paneer Posting.

Background

Anurag Dwivedi first gained virality for making videos about Dream11, a fantasy cricket betting website. Dwivedi's main YouTube^[1] channel posted its first video on November 26th, 2018 (seen below, left). On January 20th, 2019, Dwivedi posted his first video to cross over 1 million views, titled, "Anurag Dwivedi Won 30 Lakh on Fantasy Cricket | Live Winning Proof | How to Win on Fantasy Cricket" (seen below, right).^[2]

Developments

In April 2023, various meme pages began posting memes using old photos of Dwivedi. These posts became understood to be paid promos to advertise Dwivedi's fantasy cricket coaching scheme. On April 1st, Instagram^[3] page @bmsx2gang posted a video meme using a clip of Dwivedi, gathering over 2,600 likes in approximately three weeks. Instagram^[4] page @wtfpratyush posted a meme using an image of Dwivedi as well, gathering over 1,300 likes in two weeks (seen below).

On April 2nd, 2023, Instagram^[5] page @bmsx2gang posted a meme featuring Dwivedi, gathering over 3,800 likes in two weeks (seen below, left). Also on April 2nd, Instagram^[6] meme page @mishrasays_ posted a meme about Dwivedi, gathering over 1,100 likes in two weeks (seen below, right).
