Gabbie Hanna's "Roast Yourself Harder" Diss Track is a song released in 2018 by YouTuber Gabbie Hanna to roast herself. The second section of the song features an acapella rap which became a popular sound clip on TikTok in June 2020. On TikTok the rap was used in ironic or cursed videos along with videos aimed at mocking Hanna.

Origin

On August 1st, 2018, Gabbie Hanna uploaded the music video "ROAST YOURSELF HARDER CHALLENGE! (DISS TRACK!!!11!1)" which received over 6.7 million views and 504,000 likes in two years. The song contains the later popular lyrics "I climbed out of my head and watched myself implode. A thought without a body oughta be a shot to take a load off. My brain is poisoned and I’m searching for the antidote, but every time I find it my defences scream, 'Oh no you don’t!' Woah."

Spread

On August 8th, 2014, TikToker or then Musical.ly user emilynoelletilton uploaded the rap portion of the diss track which gained over 1,400 likes in two years. The sound was then picked up later in June 2020 after many TikTokers began mocking Hanna due to her YouTube presence. On June 19th, TikToker buttpoopphart uploaded a surreal cursed video using the rap song in the background and gained over 1.1 million likes in a month (shown below, center). The song was also used in videos that refer to Gabbie Hanna. For example, on June 27th, TiktOker livcormany uploaded a video compilation of tweet jabs and Hanna using to sound (shown below, right). The video garnered over 408,500 likes in two weeks. In July, The Tab^[1] published an article about how many TikTokers are mocking Gabbie Hanna.

On July 3rd, Twitter user simabvol6^[2] used the lyrics as a copypasta in reply to a tweet and accumulated over 590 likes in five days (shown below).
