Overview

iShowSpeed At Ballon d'Or refers to memes and discussions about YouTube and Twitch streamer iShowSpeed attending the 2023 Ballon d'Or in Paris France. The Ballon d'Or is an annual ceremony that presents awards to football players. iShowSpeed streamed his time at the Ballon d'Or, recording himself meeting various sportsmen including Novak Djokovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Erling Haaland. iShowSpeed's exaggerated and loud personality drew the ire of some internet users embarrassed by his behavior at an honors ceremony, while others found his stream entertaining given that attending sportsmen generally seemed unfazed by Speed's presence.

On October 30th, 2023, streamer and football fan iShowSpeed livestreamed him attending the annual Ballon d'Or ceremony held in Paris, France. X account @SpeedUpdates1 was one of the first to break the news about Speed's attendance, gathering 6,000 likes in two days.[1]

The Ballon d'Or's official X[2] account posted a video documenting iShowSpeed and Brazillian influencer Luva de Pedreiro's arrival in a post that gathered over 33,000 likes in two days (seen below).

Speed began streaming on YouTube[3] before arriving at the event, breaking his own record to gather over 500,000 concurrent views. The live stream upload has over 11 million views as of November 1st, 2023 (seen below).

A clip posted by X[6] account @SpeedUpdates1 on October 30th, 2023 showed the streamer meeting Ernst Haaland. The post gathered over 66,000 likes in two days (seen below).

X[7] account @CFC_Janty posted a clip of Speed meeting Serbian tennis player Nikolai Djokovic, and believing him when he says he plays for AC Milan. The post gathered over 36,000 likes in a day (seen below).

X[8] account @Dexerto posted a clip of Speed's reaction to Messi winning the Ballon d'Or award over Ronaldo on October 31st, 2023, gathering over 63,000 likes in a day (seen below).

Online Reactions

While Speed's fanbase expressed support for him in the comments and replies to clips of him at the Ballon d'Or, other internet users were less sympathetic to his antics. X[9] user @chazaustin10 made a post that read, "Why would he be invited to this? I really dislike him and everything he is about! Oh and before anyone says don’t follow him I don’t!!" (seen below).
