About

Elden Ring Anime Comparisons refer to a series of TikToks that compare spells and fighting styles in FromSoftware's 2022 RPG Elden Ring to various anime moments and series. The trend was popularized in late February 2022 shortly after the game's release.

Origin

On February 26th, 2022, the day after Elden Ring's release, TikToker minstora[1] posted a clip of his gameplay edited to feature music from Black Clover in the first known use of the trend online. The video gained over 255,000 likes in roughly two weeks (shown below).

Yeah, but Miyazaki really let the designers go absolutely bugfucking nuts in this game with the new Weapon Arts/Ashes of War system. You'll actually get to see them in use since all the cool ones don't suck balls like they did in DS3.

They finally hit that sweet spot between balance and flashiness (for most things anyway) for both spells and Weapon Arts. I'm surprised there aren't more of this video showing off the spells like Bloodflame Talons, Meteor, Rennala's/Ranni's Full Moon, etc.
