I am a native spanish speaker, but man, I had a real hard time trying to figure out what he's saying. He's already halfway through his story, but from what I could understand, he's talking about a time when he was working at a restaurant by the sea in Spain, and lost a Paella pan because he left it over some rocks, then the tide rose taking it away, so he had to run to the town to get a new one, wearing only his underwear (dunno why, didn't understand that part). In the end, he couldn't find a new one, so his boss made him pay the price for 20 new pans before firing him.

It's not completely accurate, but that's the general idea.-
