Now, from what I've seen at least, I don't think anyone on this site is thinking that we should go back there and stay indefinitely, it's that everyone here is criticizing HOW the withdrawal was executed.
I personally have my doubts whether we would've gotten everything we wanted out of the country by the end of May, so extending the withdrawal date to September sounded good to me at least at face value, but no matter what, it was definitely a no-brainer that we first get all the interpreters and US citizens out of the country first, then take back/destroy our weapons so the ANA couldn't just give them away when they inevitably change sides, and THEN pull out the troops.

…Now the neocons who have come out of the woodwork with their narratives on how we should stay to promote women's rights or whatever can definitely piss right off. Don't have much against feminism (of the non-blue-haired screeching variety), but women's rights, let alone basic human dignity in general are considered "western decadence" over there

We have all this high tech stuff yet the US has a terrible track record of civilian casualties.
