Defund The Police - police funding

In that same article (which is just an overview of a U.S. Rep's statements), they mention that overview all students of a specific age "overlooks significant gains by other groups and subgroups taking the NAEP", while also listing examples of increases in grades with different groups.

The article also doesn't account for the payment that teachers receive from the schools themselves..

There may be criticism to be had with schools, but defunding is hardly the solution.
