About

Los Polinesios is a trio of Mexican YouTuber siblings formed by Rafa Polinesio, Lesslie Polinesia and Karen Polinesia. The trio grew in popularity after joining YouTube in 2010 where they have since posted a variety of content focused on teenagers across Latin American countries. They would later open several other YouTube channels focusing on jokes and challenges, becoming one of the most well-known Latin creators on the platform.

Online History

Los Polinesios[1] was started by the eldest brother Rafael Velazquez Espinoza[2] on November 29th, 2010. The YouTube channel PlaticaPolinesia[3] focused on comedy skits, challenges and later on became a music channel with original work by the trio. Two years later, thanks to the progress of the channel, the brothers decided to create their main channel LosPolinesios on December 16th, 2012.

The first video on this new channel was uploaded on the same day the channel was created and featured Rafael explaining his trip to New York City and inviting people to follow the account. The video[4] garnered 1.4 million views and 55,000 likes in just over 10 years (seen below).

According to Uno Tv,[5] the name of the channel Los Polinesios is an homage to the grandfather of the family, who was a marine biologist and went to live in Polynesia. On July 16th, 2021, the trio explained in a 10-year channel anniversary video[6] that the grandfather kept “Polynesian” customs and that the family joked with the theme. The video received 2.3 million views and 115,000 likes in two years (seen below).

The trio's most viewed video[7] was uploaded on July 29th, 2017, showing the day the brothers decided to camp inside their house. The content garnered 111 million views and 1.5 million likes in five years (shown below).

Rafa Polinesio Leaves Los Polinesios

On March 7th, 2023, LosPolinesios released a video titled "Our Path Continues, It's Time to Jump!"[8] In the video, Rafa Polinesio explains why he is leaving the channel. The video (shown below) received more than 1.4 million views in less than 24 hours.
