About
CatboyKami, also known as LoliSocks, is an Australian streamer and troll who gained notoriety in July 2020 for his offensive Omegle streams in which he wore blackface, used racial slurs and made racist jokes while interacting with black people on the platform. The streamer became a viral subject of posts and discussions on Telegram, Ruqqus and 4chan and other imageboards in early July 2020.
Online History
On January 30th, 2016, CatboyKami launched his YouTube channel,[1] streaming his first currently available video, a Fortnite stream, on June 6th, 2019. In the following year, CatboyKai streamed a variety of content, primarily gaming videos,[2] reaction videos,[3] trolling videos[4] and debates with streamers such as Destiny (video examples shown below).[5]
In addition to his activity on YouTube, CatboyKami has maintained an active social presence on a variety of other social media platforms, including Discord[6], Telegram,[7] Instagram[8] and TikTok.[9]
CatboyKami previously maintained friendhip with far-right political commentator Nicholas J. Fuentes, leader of the Groyper movement. Following a December 10th, 2019, ten-hour co-stream by CatboyKami and Fuentes,[10] combined with CatboyKami's history of cross-dressing, has led to rumors that the two might be in a relationship, which was then refuted by Fuentes on his Telegram channel.[11]
July 2020 Black Lives Matter Trolling
Starting on July 5th, 2020,[18] CatboyKami conducted a number of Omegle streams in which he wore blackface, used racial slurs and made offensive jokes (such as reenacting George Floyd's death and referencing the fried chicken stereotype) while interacting with black people, later posting the streams to BitChute (shown below). The streams and clips from them later received viral spread online, with multiple reuploads on Telegram,[13] imageboards,[14] VK[15] and other social platforms.
Reputation
CatboyKami's troll persona revolves around exploiting modern social trends and breaking social norms in order to discomfort and shock people he is interacting with. CatboyKami's disregard for any social taboos includes, among other things, wearing blackface and use of racial and homophobic slurs.
Criticisms
On July 15th, 2020, DailyMail[16] reported on CatboyKami's streams. On the same day, Change.org user t j created a petition[17] to deplatform CatboyKami which gained over 670 signatures in one day.
Personal Life
CatboyKami's real name is unknown. He resides in Brisbane, Australia, is a NEET and an avid lolicon fan. As of June 18th, 2020, CatboyKami was 21 years old. CatboyCami previously maintained friendship with Nicholas J. Fuentes, the leader of the Groypers, and with fellow alt right streamer GypsyCrusader.
