My Heart Is Cold, continued My Moves Are Bold, also known as Putin (My Heart Is Cold), refers to a Vladimir Putin song and animated music video made by the YouTube channel Bad History in 2020. In early 2023, the video and song became an exploitable meme template on TikTok when creators captioned the song's chorus and Putin's verse, "My Heart Is Cold. My Moves Are Bold." A greenscreen of Putin sitting in a chair and him dancing like a Gopnik was used as well. The memes were made to represent being unbothered in a given scenario.

Origin

On February 4th, 2020, the YouTube^[1] channel Bad History posted an animated music video for a Russian, Vladimir Putin-related song called "Putin (My Heart Is Cold)." Over the course of three years, the video received roughly 31 million views and 810,000 likes (shown below). At the 0:50-second mark, the song's chorus begins in which Putin says, "My heart is cold. My moves are bold."

Going into 2020, the video garnered reaction videos on YouTube,^[2] eventually resulting in the first piece of memetic content to use the clip. On October 27th, 2020, YouTuber^[3] Colo posted a video that portrayed Vladimir Putin himself reacting to the music video, earning roughly 26,600 views in three years (shown below).

On TikTok

Despite early usage on YouTube, Putin (My Heart Is Cold) prominently achieved meme status on TikTok in late 2022 and early 2023. For instance, on February 25th, 2022, TikToker^[4] @shlegerpop reposted the video to the platform for the first known time, gaining roughly 63,900 likes in one year (shown below, left). On March 22nd, 2023, TikToker^[5] @thundermancz posted a video that used the song's chorus and added a caption about the creator's girlfriend breaking up with them, earning roughly 2 million plays and 226,700 likes in 12 days (shown below, right).

After TikToker^[5] @thundermancz's use of the video, the template gained various iterations going into April 2023.
