Who Is Sketch? The Viral Twitch Streamer Behind The 'What's Up Brothers?' Meme Explained

A new Twitch streamer has been taking over TikTok, with mentions of the bespectacled kid known only as Sketch only increasing as 2024 progresses. The streamer, often associated with also up-and-coming streamer Jynxzi, is perhaps best known for his viral catchphrase, What's up brother? Tuesday, Tuesday.

But Sketch's main passion appears to playing Madden, the official NFL video game created by EA. Clips of Sketch playing Madden have been making the rounds too, the streamer wearing his Texans jersey while his glasses get increasingly foggy. Here's a recap of Sketch's recent rise to fame.

Who Is Sketch, And How Did He Become A Streamer?

Sketch grew up in Houston, Texas, and still resides there as of 2024. According to an interview with fellow podcaster Jynxzi, Sketch went to four different colleges in under two years but eventually didn't complete his higher education, when he got a new PC, he decided to dive into streaming at age 25.

Sketch gives more details about his rise to fame in his interview with Jynxzi, saying that he started streaming on Twitch but switched to TikTok Live in 2023. According to Sketch, the first clip of him to go viral on TikTok was posted by another user, showing him miming the act of lifting his fellow streamer Zach Lewis's metaphorical nuts.

When Did Sketch First Start Gathering A Following Online?

Sketch gathered most of his fans between 2023 and 2024, largely thanks to his TikTok Live sessions and his collaborations with fellow streamer Jynxzi. A late December 2023 YouTube video posted by Sketch showed him collaborating with Jynxzi, eventually expanding from just gaming streams into doing e-dating collaborations.

These videos acted as a catalyst to Sketch's fame, with the views on his videos and his follower count increasing exponentially in 2024. Eventually, Sketch even went on to collaborate with big streamers like Caseoh and Kai Cenat.

Sketch's fans also began to make videos about him in late 2023, with some clips going viral and contributing to Sketch's newfound fame. TikTokers @moschinodorito and @jacksenlunaa's impressions of Sketch gained notoriety in late 2024 and March 2024.

What's With The 'What's Up Brothers? Tuesday, Tuesday' Meme?

Sketch has a bunch of catchphrases he often cycles through while playing Madden, and the "What's Up Brothers?" meme combines his tendencies to stick his finger in the air and to say "brother" all the time. In fact, it was probably a stream with Jynxzi that popularised Sketch's catchphrase, as seen in the clip shown below.

For some reason, every boy remotely interested in professional sports seems to know Sketch's catchphrase, even if they don't know him. Videos of people mimicking Sketch and saying "What's up brother?" in his tone went viral across TikTok in 2024.
