the bible gives instructions for slavery and genocide, and that's in the scriptures chosen as canon for a bound english translation of a book written in greek years after the fact. If we didn't cherrypick the good bits, most people would throw out the whole thing
Mixed cloth, eating fat, shellfish, or pork, buying land, and trimming your hair or beard are all listed at some point
whacking is also safer then smashing, because onanism refers to pulling out
So, you reposted an uncropped Sam Hyde repost complaining that others complain about the ambiguous nature of the bible, and never mention the real harm done by arbitrary rules based on ancient stories? BrAvE.
I consider my actions in their context, and you should read with context as well.
I'd argue though Jesus has two key summaries of his teachings.
"Love God with all thine heart" which is asking the listener to abandon sin and follow Christ's teachings.
"Love thy neighbor" which says to unconditionally love others, regardless of how well the listener thinks their neighbor does regarding sin or devotion.
Hippie Jesus and Sin No More Jesus are both canon because he sums it up so bluntly.
I don't really see how this is conflicting with so-called "Hippie Jesus". Obviously you're not supposed to sin; sins are the things that Christianity teaches are bad to do. How does that mean you're not supposed to love your neighbour?
