It ain't as bad as Sonic Robo Kart 2 Kart. It's chaotic, you'll lose special items by the second before you use 'em, touching a wall sends you across the room, questionable terrain properties, parts of the level blends in, Vanilla Lake, Aigis mains, and how they treat respawns is a bit baffling.
We players of "Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car" just call it "Karted". There's montages all over youtube of these moments. I managed to make 9 videos of said moments, myself, with a tenth in production.
