Out of the whole controversy, this is THE one point almost everyone agrees on: Campo Santo's DMCA claim was absolutely out of place and basically illegal and abusive. Pewdiepie agrees, his fans agree, people following CS agree (thus why their Steam reviews for Firewatch plummeted) and even most law-savvy people agree. You cannot just weaponize the laws of DMCA to make moral standpoints. That will not get you anywhere in court.

And even with this, Pewdiepie chose not to dispute the claim and just deleted the video, even though he knows it would be an easy win for him, because he would rather admit his initial fault on the whole thing. This will only make Campo Santo look even pettier in contrast and ultimately ruin their reputation more than Pewdiepie ruined his by saying "nigger" on a livestream. Let that be a grim reminder that no bad situation is bad enough for it to not get worse.

I'm not a PewDiePie fan, and until recently had never seen anything of his. But his "It's All Over" video is hilarious. And I don't understand our stupid society.

Louis CK made his rep with jokes about child molestation (for it, not against it). He has trapped women in rooms and forced them to watch him masturbate. He's a national hero.

But PewDiePie says a "bad word" (one that we childishly call "the n-word") and we're supposed to consider him radioactive?
