I'm pretty sure this is a joke, but presuming you're someone who talks suspiciously like my father:

Some gasses trap and transfer heat better than others, just like solids. A hot cloth (assuming it doesn't ignite) will be irritating, but hot metal will transfer its heat so fast that it will give burns. Licking a cold cloth would be unpleasant, licking a cold piece of metal will immediately freeze your tongue to it.

CO2, methane, and other "greenhouse gasses" act similar to this. They trap heat in our atmosphere better and prevents it from escaping back out into space. By having fossil fuel power plants, over a billion cars, a lot of giant ships, fossil fuel power plants, gassy cows, and other stuff, we collectively put out a lot of greenhouse gasses. Millions of metric tons of the stuff.

The question with this in mind is mostly "how much of an effect does this have" rather than "does this have an effect at all". Is it minor? Huge? That's what can be debated. I thought human actions were the primary cause of climate change, however as I said in another comment, Lisa convinced me that we're only responsible for 10-30% of it.

Also, Antarctica is heating up on average. It's still cold, but it won't prove anything to just throw people into a cold place. "It's snowing!" "But it's the desert, and the summer was hot enough to kill several people"

Yeah, it's mostly sarcasm and comedy, not a serious political debate of points. The series is basically just trolling random people on the internet and poking fun, not a debate channel. I don't blame you for not watching a comedy video.

Anyways, I was surprised by the quality of the thread and that the 97% consensus thing is blatantly bad statistics. You've successfully managed to convince someone who thought "climate change is primarily caused by humans" to "climate change is only partially caused by humans".

Although, my stance on what to do hasn't changed since it was and is to develop technology like solar (for individual use) and fusion power (for public use), since the effects of AGW are said to be delayed and that we're pretty screwed even if we drop everything right now. Obsoleting burning fossil fuels worldwide will be good for the environment, even if it's only for pollution.

So good job, Lisa. You convinced me with reasoning and analysis of evidence.
