keep in mind that the term "rape" had not always the same meaning.

I saw it in person, they basically abducted a bunch of women to be their wives. It wouldn't exactly be like physical rape, but more abduction and holding them against their will that leads to eventual sex.

Then again many cultures in that era believed in arranged marriages, so they might not have minded nearly as much….
