IIC he said in an interview once he actually doesn't watch many horror movies because he scares easily. Kinda reminds me of the story behind why Shinji Mikami was brought on as director of Resident Evil 1 after his prior work at Capcom had been working on Disney games: Mikami was known to scare easily so it was considered a benefit to bring an easily scared person into the director's seat, as if it scared him then the other devs knew they were on the right track.
