Sheed's "Tupac Back" Dance refers to an exploitable video of a man dancing to the song "Tupac Back" by Meek Mill feat. Rick Ross. The original video was posted in July 2016, featuring the viral "Man Dancing on Bus," also known as Sheed from Newark. In late March 2024, Sheed's dancing video resurfaced on TikTok with an edit featuring the "Tupac Back" song and ironic captions about people feeling extremely happy or confident.

Origin

On July 7th, 2016, YouTuber^[1] @BmarFamous posted a video titled "Sheed: How To Dance 2016" featuring Sheed from Newark, New Jersey, a man who went viral in 2012 as the "Man dancing on bus."^[2] Sheed's 2016 dancing video (seen below) amassed more than 37,000 views and 1,500 likes in eight years.

On March 25th, 2024, TikTok^[3] user @realeljo uploaded Sheed's dancing video under the 2011 song "Tupac Back" by Meek Mill feat. Rick Ross^[4] paired with the on-screen text, "Me going back to being my father's daughter after trying that soft girl shi and having mfs playing in my face." The post (seen below) received more than 2.8 million plays and 598,000 likes in four months.

The Tupac Back meme was popularized on TikTok in early July 2024 as people wrote various captions over Sheed's dancing video to express feelings of excitement or confidence. For example, on July 1st, 2024, TikTok^[4] user @harajukubarbie9 wrote, "When they think silent treatment will work but I had a mimic for a mother when she was mad" to express how they are ready to face the uncomfortable situation. The post (seen below, left) received more than 551,000 likes in a week.

On July 5th, TikTok^[5] user @sazzamush added the text, "Me as soon as I get comfortable with someone and becoming the most irritating little f possible" over Sheed's "Tupac Back" video (seen below, right), garnering over 2 million plays and 567,000 likes in four days.
