About

Queen of Melrose "My Father Gets a Job at the Palm Restaurant" refers to a viral video of celebrity stylist and fashion designer Cosmo Lombino, aka the Queen of Melrose, speaking about her father in an interview with Soft White Underbelly on YouTube. Lombino is seen with bleach-blonde hair, wearing a fur coat and smoking a cigarette. The particular clip starts with her saying, "So we move to LA. My father gets a job at the Palm Restaurant. My Uncle Junior works there who was a Jehovah's Witness …" The video went viral on Twitter / X in mid-2024, trending as a reaction video on Stan Twitter. Many captioned the video akin to unnecessarily ranting in humorous scenarios, while others used her monologue as a copypasta.

Copypasta

So we move to LA. My father gets a job at the Palm Restaurant. My Uncle Junior works there who was a Jehovah's Witness, believe it or not. He went from Catholic to Jehovah. So basically, my grandmother wanted us all to switch from Catholic to Jehovah, you know? Meanwhile, we're from Harlem; my father's doing coke, you know; my mother thinks she's Ann Margaret; she's teasing her hair with a bottle of vodka, you know; so dysfunctional, cross-addicted family, still cooking pasta on Sundays… Um, and uh, and the meatballs, they- they wind up being burnt, you know? It just got so dysfunctional. It got pretty bad.
