Peter Griffin is the main character on the American animated television series Family Guy. The patriarch of the Griffin family, Peter has inspired to numerous memes since appearing on the show in January 1999.

On January 31st, 1999, the first episode of Family Guy premiered on Fox (clip below).[1]

Peter Hurts His Knee

On July 25th, 2000, the Family Guy episode "Wasted Talent" aired.[2] In the episode, Griffin is shown running home with a hidden scroll and trips, injuring his knee, causing him to double over in pain and wince for 30 seconds (shown below, left). On October 18th, 2009, YouTuber weirdovideoz uploaded a clip of a man imitating the scene followed by a screen capture of Griffin holding his knee (shown below, right). Within nine years, the video gained over 426,000 views and 600 comments.

In 2005, a yearbook photo of a man that resembles Peter Griffin went viral online. However, that year, fact-checking website Snopes [3] declared the photograph doctored, stating that the picture was of Justin Blair Spaeth (shown below, left and right, respectively).

Peter Griffin Gets Milked

On November 14th, 2010, the Family Guy episode "Baby You Knock Me Out" aired.[4] In the episode, a champion boxer named Deirdre Jackson milks Peter's breasts like a cow (shown below, left). On July 10th, 2018, Redditor gary_neilson7 submitted an image with Peter's breasts labeled "Top quality Reddit OC," and Deirdre labeled "inferior social media sites" to the subreddit /r/MemeEconomy. [5] Within 24 hours, the post gained over 17,500 upvotes and over 2,300 comments.

Hey Beter

On July 19th, 2016, YouTube user Bubble Rick posted a heavily-distorted video of Peter Griffin walking while distorted audio of the character Joe Swanson saying "Hey Peter" repeated until the end of the video (shown below). The video has gained over 33,000 views within one year.



Peter Griffin Explains the Joke

Before March 11th, 2018, now-deleted ironic Facebook page Boobs Guns Freedom Beer and TRUMP posted a meme in which Family Guy character Peter Griffin explained an older meme in an additional panel. On March 11th, 2018, the post was submitted to /r/comedyhomicide[6] subreddit where it gained over 2,100 upvotes in six months.

Peter Griffin Mii Speed Runs

On April 26th, 2016, YouTube user -Captain Frezhor- posted a video tutorial for creating a "Mii closely resembling Family Guy character Peter Griffin. The tutorial showcased several tricks to make the Mii look as close to the character as possible, including the use of eyebrows to create a fake nose and using the actual nose instead of a chin. The video accumulated over 229,600 views in three years (shown below, left).

On March 28th, 2018, YouTube user turnipp posted a video titled "Mii Maker (Switch) – Peter griffin Speedrun in 24.80" in which he performed a speedrun of creating Peter Griffin in Mii Maker on Nintendo Switch gaming console (shown below, right). The video gained over 3,800 views in two years.
