Overview

Bach Google Doodle is Google's[1] first AI-powered interactive doodle made in partnership with Google Magenta and Google PAIR to commemorate 17th Century composer Johann Sebastian Bach's birthday.

Background

On March 20th, 2019, Google released an introduction video for the Bach Google Doodle (shown below). The doodle allows players to compose two measures of music and then creates a harmony in the style of Bach using machine learning. The program was made available from the 21st to the 22nd of March.

Development

Many people began proudly showing off their compositions on Twitter. On March 21, Twitter user @jaheeres uploaded their composition (shown below). It was then posted to ClassicFM's[3] website as a favorite.

On March 22nd, @GoogleDoodles[2] tweeted about an Easter Egg located in the doodle. If you click on a guitar amp in the background it activates a rock setting (shown below).
