Two memes from _Encanto_.

The Best Memes Of 'Encanto'

Did you watch Encanto? Did you do it willingly, or were you coerced by the hundreds of children, teens, and adults alike singing the soundtrack in public? Probably the latter. While we love a good Disney movie, Encanto became way more of a phenomenon than it should have been. This is probably the result of Lin Manuel Mirandaā€™s soundtrack, as well as some cool animation. Or maybe itā€™s because of the many memes about it. Here are some of the most notable and up-and-coming memes of Encanto.

Antonio Abuela Mirabel Bruno

We Donā€™t Talk About Bruno

Letā€™s start with the obvious. ā€œWe Donā€™t Talk About Brunoā€ is a song about the estranged uncle Bruno, who the family does talk about quite a lot. And itā€™s one of the best (if not the best) Disney songs out there. It also digs into the back of your eardrums like a parasite, and it never stops boring into your brain. Simply put, it gets stuck in your head forever, and we become mindless drones who canā€™t stop humming it to ourselves, even when weā€™d rather hear nothing but the screaming of our own tinnitus. Itā€™s become such a huge meme, shared in the form of video compilations or just randomly screaming the lyrics at the bus stop.

Bruno living in the walls

While weā€™re talking about Bruno a lot more than we should, itā€™s amazing that no one felt the need to comment on Bruno living in the walls. Is this not terrifying to everyone? If he wasnā€™t a family member in a Disney movie, this would be the scariest thing ever. This is literally the concept of a horror movie, and yet itā€™s somehow supposed to be a heartwarming moment in the movie in which we find out how much Bruno really cares about his family. Mirabel seems pretty calm about it, but thereā€™s no way the whole family would react well to discovering that a man they despise is living in the walls watching them all day long. Needless to say, a few of us picked up on this and made memes about Bruno and his ā€œhome.ā€

Seven Foot Frame, Rats Along His Back

This is the description given of Bruno in the song ā€œWe Donā€™t Talk About Bruno.ā€ Yes, itā€™s another one of those references to the only song anyone cares about from that movie. Thereā€™s just something so overly dramatic about this small portion of the song. Itā€™s worth noting that Bruno looks like heā€™s five feet tall, and as youā€™d probably expect, a lot of people noticed this and made memes about it. The other thing that keeps all of us fascinated with this line is how it sticks in your brain more aggressively than the rest of the song. Maybe itā€™s just more memorable, or maybe itā€™s just the super long and drawn-out syllables Mirabelā€™s brother sings. But either way, people quote that line more than any other, and itā€™s become a meme on its own.

Mirabel Kicking In Brunoā€™s Door

This oneā€™s a new format that stems from the scene in which Mirabel confronts her terrifying wall-dwelling uncle. She kicks the door in to get to him, and Brunoā€™s reaction led to lots of new memes using a two-panel object labeling style. It works great representing a dramatic moment or sudden cause for concern interrupting our once-peaceful lives. In this moment, Bruno realizes thereā€™s no escaping Mirabel and her countless questions, just like thereā€™s no hope we can escape the countless bad renditions of ā€œWe Donā€™t Talk About Brunoā€ being sung in every public area.
