Full Jem and the Holograms rant

WE NEED TO BOYCOTT JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS Us girl barely get anything in life Boys get cool action figures with mass detail and sound effects that shoot plastic projectiles and slime that can transform into cars and plane Girls on the other hand get plucky barbie dolls, brats and monster high that all have the same generic uninteresting niche of being a materialist fashionista homemaker and with a small appetite and a hunger for a new pair of shoes I know its all just a 1 hour 30 minute advertisement for toys but they could do better than that! The boys get movies like transformers and ninja turtles with explosions and special effects starring whoopi goldberg, Shia labeouf, mark wahlberg and (as much as i dont like her) megan fox The girls get some chick flick pajama drama with tweenpop TWEENPOP So hollywood cant invest in us ladies is that it? Sure we got frozen and maleficent but that's not enough So hollywood doesn't want to spend the extra dollar on guitar motorbikes, pink star earrings, hologram special effects and overall 80s magic The character Jerica (Jem) was emancipated from the cliche coming of age hannah montana story line. she took over her fathers music company Imagine showing little girls that they could be a CEO of a big record company - when I was a kid I always wanted to be the girl version of richie rich. Thats so empowering But no hollywood wont allow that. They think us girls are easy to entertain so they won't invest in holograms and guitar motorbikes they think we dont like a compelling original story with action and mystery solving So Im shouting out to all the women and men out there to not watch this movie To not let your little sisters and daughters and cousins be subjected to this poorly written trash. Let them see ninga turtles and transformers (they're better then this jem movie) Let them be interested in action and a good story Frozen and Tangled offered that! But dont buy into the hollywood lie that your little sister/ daughter/cousin is only good for chick flicks and a soppy coming of age drama and cant aspire to anything else Be truly outrageous and dont let Hollywood win #feminism #hollywood #gender equality #jem and the holograms #truley outragous

what i will say is that it would of been nicer if they made more female targeted movies like frozen and maleficent from non-disney companies that had special effects and an original story plot with better writing
