People are still saying that Twilight's now "immortal"? Didn't McCarthy or Larson or whoever outright say that it wasn't the case for Twilight? Or… you know… the fact that NOTHING'S indicating it? Hell, there's nothing saying that Celestia and Luna are immortal. (Though, technically, recent cannon has said that Alicorns live for a much longer time compared to other ponies. No word on artificial ones though.)
Sure, I don't care for "Twilicorn" but because of how pointless it's been. From the MMC, all the way up to the S4 Finale, there's been no reason for it to happen. Had they actually put some time and effort into the change, I would have loved to see what they'd do with it.
Really, I blame their need for pushing Equestria Girls as soon as they did… Instead of getting a competently done explanation, giving us high hopes for this change in character and what it could mean for the show… we got cliche teen-drama.
"I assume at least some of you have seen Twilight Time? A prime example of an episode that could not exist without Alicorn Twilight."
What a crock. That episode could've easily been rewritten around Twilight's status as Princess Celestia's #1 student had she stayed as a unicorn. Yeah, it wouldn't have made much sense for the kids to catch onto that four seasons into the show, but hey, it took the rest of the Mane Six the same amount of time to notice that Fluttershy was a good singer.
