I am angered, saddened, and overall wanting these to stop because this is where I draw the line.

I need to stop reading these.
I need to remind myself that they aren't real. That the characters aren't real, that the events depicted never happened, that none of the abuse ever occurred.

Then I remember that abuse stories like this happen in real life all the time. I know a friend who endured parental abuse. Our family actually took him in for a year until he was taken to a permanent foster home.

I don't like this image one bit. It hits too close to home, even if it isn't real.
