Frankly, I agree. I really love some of the classical symphonies, but listening to just 18th century European music and acting as though you have achieved true intellectual enlightenment by being a dick about any other music makes you seem exactly like the typical euphoric atheist.
Now excuse me while I go listen to the finale of Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture, followed by Daft Punk, some Arbouretum, and maybe some of the Django: Unchained soundtrack.
I agree completely. I don't understand why people tend to limit themselves to only a select few genres. Sure, people obviously have their preferences, as do I, But I enjoy a wide variety of musical genres as well. For example. I listen to a lot of VGM. I enjoy the sweeping orchestral pieces from Final Fantasy, but also the ambient and atmospheric tracks from the Metroid series.
I stand by the idea that Genres of music cannot be bad, but individual artists/songs can be. Good music is good music regardless of the genre!
