"Ackchyually" moment: Klonoa 2 released in 2001, but yeah point still stands. You know something is truly timeless when someone not accustomed to older generation games can still play it with little issue.
On the other hand, there are definitely times when I do have to occasionally remind myself that maybe the only reason why I can still enjoy some older games is because I grew up with them and got accustomed to their antiquity (old survival horror is by far the biggest example, I'm probably only used to tank controls because I simply got used to them long ago, but I understand that for a modern audience tank controls are going to feel clunky as hell).
