according to The Baltimore Sun the main complaint is that Movie-Mulan was too individualistic whereas Chinese culture values community. They felt Movie-Mulan was in it for personal glory as opposed to Myth-Mulan who fought for the honor of her family and country, and that made her feel too westernized.

Also, Mushu didn't feel like a Chinese Dragon either, trying to cover up for his mistakes instead of being ashamed of them. Also also I was not aware that Eddie Murphy had voiced him.
