Copyright is a very strange and complicated thing, especially when it comes to music.
The best example that I can think of is Epic Mickey:
The first boss of that game is the "It's a Small World" Clock Tower, so naturally it has the (in)famous song as it's theme (albeit a creepy version of it).
The catch, though? It's lyric-less. They actually wanted to include the lyrics, but thanks to some copyright issues, they had to stick with an instrumental-only version.
You read that right: Even DISNEY couldn't get the rights to a song they already friggin' OWN.
