In Fire Emblem, there are some times where you have to capture a certain location in order to clear the map. In those cases, there will almost always be a boss parked on top of that location, often a beefy class that doesn't go down easy, such as a knight. These bosses are also generally incapable of moving, so you have no choice but to kill the boss before you can capture the location.
