LIVE D INSIDE YOUR FACE. □ Anonymous 08/09/14(Sat)18:36:40 No.34008270- It depends on how hardcore you want your setting to be. □ Anonymous 08/09/14(Sat)18:43:26 No.34008362 >34009127 It isn't so much about what the material is made of as it is about its spiritual meaning. Magic is funny like For example, topsoil is entirely made of decayed and decaying dead things, but spiritually it is a giver of life, not a symbol of death. The magic that flows through the soil is not of the kind that necromancers truck with, but the kind that green mages and druids and hedge masters master. A corpse, on the other hand, is full of dark energy and the magic of death. It represents the sad fall, rather than the coming birth. From that perspective I would say yes, rock oil is within the realm of necromancy. When it spills, it poisons all life. When it is found, blood is shed and morals are abandoned. Where it is used as fuel, pollution spreads, as a physical manifestation of negative energy. It isn't that it used to be living organic matter, that is not enough for necromancy to work its power. It is that oil is spiritually associated with death and fear.
