The Gajasimha is a half-elephant, half-lion creature from Hindu and South East Asian Mythology.

I would like to tell you more, but every source just says this. It's infuriating, as they play a large part in temple motifs as gate keepers and appear on coats of arms; so there must be more to it than that, but I can't find anything.
