The Game Was Rigged From the Start

For context: Rooster Teeth held a contest where people that attend Full Sail University can submit drawings of Grimm (the monsters that RWBY fight) and win the chance to have it appear and even gain some money out of it.

The entire contest, however, felt fishy the moment it began, since RT's fine print allowed them to have rights to the Grimm designs, something that former animator at Rooster Teeth and the creator of Nomad of Nowhere, Georden Whitman, warned about.

Then the finalists were announced and among them was the Wendigo Grimm. Simple, right? We had a few Wendigo monsters in the past like Until Dawn and My Little Pony, but apparently this Wendigo was very naughty and people rallied to outvote it, encouraging others to vote for other Grimm or outright accusing the artist of plagiarism.

It got so bad that a notorious Youtuber had to get involved and tell the news to his followers, who ended up promoting the Wendigo to first place, much to the chagrin of other artists and fans. The artist of the Wendigo, Mayuki, was aware of the controversy and elected to change the name to something more generic, but Rooster Teeth decided to not only disqualify it for "cultural appropriateness" but also disable public voting for everyone else, all while two designs were pulled from the contest, the Wendigo and the Rhino Grimm.

In the end, RT had shown its true face when it came to it. The reason why Facebook is there is because you needed Facebook to vote.
