Wisp The Kitten is a Persian kitten cared for by the Rags to Riches animal rescue team in Tampa, Florida. The kitten went viral on TikTok in late August 2022, partly due to its similar appearance to fellow "scrungly" cat Tater Tot. People were drawn to Wisp following Tater Tot's passing, with fans making art and memes using the kitten's likeness. Wisp underwent surgery to solve a minor digestive issue in September 2023, with fans cheering on her fast recovery.

On August August 22nd, 2023, the TikTok^[1] account for Florida-based animal rescue group Rags to Riches posted its first TikTok, showing a newborn white kitten named "Wisp." The post gathered over 15 million plays and 2.3 million likes in a month, with many commentators noting the kitten's similar appearance to the late Tater Tot. An August 25th video shows Wisp's vocal personality, with many comments on the upload noting her "scrungly" appearance. The post gathered over 6 million plays and 1.1 million likes in three weeks (seen below, right).

Rags to Riches Animal Rescue continued to post updates about Wisp, with an August 23rd, 2023 upload^[2] gathering over 10 million plays and 1.7 million likes in a month (seen below, left). An August 25th upload^[3] gathered over 6 million plays and 1.1 million likes in a month (seen below, right).

On August 29th, 2023, the rescue group posted an update about Wisp's health, saying that the kitten had digestive problems that might need surgical intervention.^[4]

Fans began making art about Wisp following his rise to fame, with TikToker^[5] @a_c.sdraws posting a video on September 12th that gathered over 500,000 plays and 118,000 likes in two weeks (seen below, left). On September 14th, 2023, TikToker^[6] @ashenthrone posted fan art of wisp as well, gathering over 600,000 plays and 140,000 likes in a week (seen below, right).
